Entzule for iPhone

One person makes Entzule, and that person answers the mail: hello@entzule.app. I read everything and reply within a couple of working days. Bug reports, questions, a feature you wish existed, or a transcript that came out wrong: all of it is welcome.
If you are reporting a problem, these four lines save us a round trip:
- Your iPhone model and its iOS version.
- The Entzule version, at the bottom of Settings inside the app.
- What you did, and what happened instead of what you expected.
- The language you were recording in.
Please do not send me a recording or a transcript. They are yours, they never reach me on their own, and I do not want a copy. Describe the problem instead, and if I need more I will ask for something specific.
Questions that come up
The app is not hearing anything
Entzule needs two permissions: the microphone, and speech recognition. Both are asked for the first time you record. If you said no, iOS will not ask again: open the Settings app, find Entzule, and switch them on there.
Transcription is not available in my language
Entzule transcribes with Apple's speech engine running on the phone itself, and that engine has to have your language installed. The app shows you which languages your own iPhone can serve. If yours is missing, it is not available on-device yet, and the app will not send your audio to a server to work around that.
It put two people together, or split one person in two
Separating voices is the hardest part, and it degrades with more people in the room. Entzule is built for two people across a table and holds up to about five. When it gets someone wrong you can fix it in the transcript in two taps, and the correction sticks.
It keeps misspelling a name or an acronym
That is what the dictionary is for. Correct the term once and Entzule keeps correcting it, in that recording and in the ones after it.
I deleted the app and lost my dictionary
Everything Entzule holds lives inside the app on your iPhone, which is the whole point, and it also means deleting the app takes it along. Recordings and transcripts come back from an iPhone backup. The dictionary is the one thing that does not rebuild itself, so there is an export in the dictionary screen: send the file to Files, to yourself, or to a colleague, and import it on the new phone.
How do I turn off usage analytics
In Settings inside the app, and it takes effect immediately. What the app sends is counts of features used, with a code generated on installation, the store region and the plan. Never content: no audio, no text, no titles, no names. Your conversations do not leave the phone whether that setting is on or off.
Does it work without a network
Yes, completely. Switch on Airplane Mode and record, transcribe, summarise and export as usual. That is the promise the app is built around, and it is meant to be tested rather than believed.
